The IPIA Announces Merge with BAPC
UK industry trade body the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) has announced that it will be merging with the British Association for Print and Communication (BAPC).
The merge is intended to allow both trade bodies to combine shared resources and talent to support the print industry more effectively.
Sidney Bobb, chairman of the BAPC, will take on the role of BAPC president, while the IPIA’s chairman Graeme Smith is expected to continue in his role.
Former Print Monthly editor Brendan Perring will be serving as the new chairman of the BAPC.
The BAPC was founded to represent the retail and print sector over 40 years ago, and currently provides members with resources, support and information on the industry.
Meanwhile, the IPIA was formed in 1990 as a not-for-profit trade association representing UK print businesses, delivering ongoing support and advice along with industry ambassadorship.
In a press release, Sidney Bobb commented, “In these times of unprecedented change it is important that the leading industry bodies work together.
“That is why we have chosen to merge the BAPC with the IPIA, combining all our respective strengths and values, to support all the members and deliver the most comprehensive range of services possible.”
