E-Commerce is Predicted to Rise in 2023
E-commerce will have a banner year in 2023, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF)’s yearly forecast.
Online sales are projected to rise from 10% to 12% this year.
E-commerce has become a regular part of consumers’ shopping experience – but according to the NRF, e-commerce is still just one piece of the puzzle.
“While many consumers continue to utilize the conveniences offered by online shopping, much of that growth is driven by multichannel sales, where the physical store still plays an important component in the fulfillment process,” the NRF’s report states.
“As the role of brick-and-mortar stores has evolved in recent years, they remain the primary point of purchase for consumers, accounting for approximately 70% of total retail sales.”
